Who Is Your Leader?

Many times in the books of Kings and Chronicles in the Bible, God shows us leadership skills.

Let’s take a look at I Kings 15:34 & 16:3

“He did evil in the sight of the Lord and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin by which he made Israel sin.

This statement is written many times describing the evil Kings that went against God.  God became angry with them not only because they went against His ways and commandments, but as a leader he caused a multitude of people to go down with him and caused them to abandon God and sin.

“Surely I will take away the posterity of Basshan and the posterity of his house.” Wow!  Who leads you is extremely important.  We need to make sure to surround ourselves with people who have a heart after God.  Who surrounds us influences us.  Who is in your sphere of influence?

Another example in II Chronicles 12:1

“Now it came to pass, when Rehoboam had strengthened himself, that he forsook the law of the Lord and all Israel along with him.”

Rehoboam, once wanted to restore Judah and do things unto the Lord.  BUT once everything was normal and going well, He forgot God and began doing things on his own.  In doing this he brought Israel down with him.  Our actions and being away from God always have consequences.  Even our secret ways, that no one else knows.  God knows.  There are always consequences for going against God’s will.  For Rehoboam and other kings, war with Egypt was the consequence.

Who is in your sphere of influence today?  Who leads you?

Blessings! 🙂
